  Mt. Adams has nine restaurants, all superb. Several of the most notable are Teak Thai Restaurant, which, besides offering delectable Thai cuisine, also has a beautiful outdoor patio. Mt. Adams Fish House is known as one of the city’s best places to have fish. Porkopolis, which was formerly Rookwood Pottery Restaurant, is a National Historic Register Building – and where else can you enjoy your burger in a kiln? The Celestial is a four-star restaurant with a breathtaking view of the city – a feast for the eyes as well as the appetite.
• Nightlife
  

  Mt. Adam’s population increases greatly at night, in no small part because of their wonderful and unique selection of bars. The atmosphere in each varies greatly, from demure wine sipping at The Wine Cellar to club-style dancing at Mt. Adams Pavilion. The Blind Lemon is perhaps one of the city’s most unusual watering holes; its low entryways, peculiar décor and mood lighting can lend the feeling of walking into the town pub in a Tolkien novel. Guido’s Lounge has specials every day of the week except Saturday, and no mention of Mt. Adams is complete without a nod to Longworth’s, a historic saloon-style restaurant and nightclub with a garden. Aliveone is also worth a visit, and features Cincinnati’s only “all-live” jukebox, containing live recordings of favorite Rock & Roll bands from past to present. For those that appreciate Irish pubs, Crowley’s is the oldest one in town.

  If there were a nutritional label for Mt. Adams, it might read 20 percent residential, 20 percent bars and restaurants, 20 percent parks and 40 percent arts. The arts are a giant part of Mt. Adams’ appeal, as well as its physical real estate.
  
  The Cincinnati Art Museum, founded in 1881, is one of the oldest art museums in the country, and boasts a collection of more than 60,000 works - one of the most comprehensive collections in the Midwest. General admission to the museum is now free, thanks to a gift from The Lois and Richard Rosenthal Foundation. The museum also hosts frequent special events and concerts, as well as film screenings by Cincinnati World Cinema in its lower-level theatre.
  
  For dramatic theatre, Mt Adams also boasts Playhouse in the Park, which was founded in 1959 and has maintained an excellent regional and national reputation. It won a Tony Awards in 2004 for Best Regional Theatre and another in 2007 for its acclaimed revival of Company. The Playhouse contains two theatres, the larger Robert S. Marx Theatre and the smaller Thompson Shelterhouse. In addition to a full 10-month season of plays, Playhouse in the Park also offers acting classes and other programs for children.

  If Eden Park is the closest Cincinnatians can come to the Garden of Eden, it’s not a bad approximation. Eden Park is one of the city’s premier parks, and home to Playhouse in the Park, Cincinnati Art Museum, Krohn Conservatory, Seasongood Pavilion and Mirror Lake. The park contains four overlooks giving amazing views of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. There is a duck pond as well as Mirror lake, a man-made pond with a painted floor and a fountain that shoots water 60 feet into the air. There are walking trails, multiple gardens and picnic areas and bandstands with occasional concerts. Seasongood Pavilion, a large amphitheater with frequent free concerts during the summer, is a main attraction. One must also make a point to visit Eden Park in springtime for an exhibit of flowering trees and over 50,000 daffodils.
• Special Interest
  

  In Mt. Adams, people love their dogs . You can not go a block without passing someone out walking their pooch. Local businesses are as hospitable to canines as they are their customers, often leaving water out in decorative bowls for any pups that happen to wander by. Don’t be surprised if you find an enthusiastic pet-owner bringing their dog into a shop – pets are people too in Mt. Adams. One key example of this area’s great love for dogs can be witnessed in the yearly Reindog parade, which, like Halloween, has parents dressing their “kids” in colorful costumes to march around the neighborhood. Another local pastime is jogging – you’ll find lots of joggers about, especially in Eden Park. Some of them are likely practicing for the annual Flying Pig Marathon, which passes through Mt. Adams.
• Shopping
  

  There aren’t a ton of shops in Mt. Adams, and those that exist are specialized. The Guilded Age and Viva both offer art, antiques and unique gifts, while Studio 23 hosts art workshops and sells original paintings and drawings. United Dairy Farmers is the local grocer and catch-all, and Koka Coffee Lounge sells a few gourmet food items and greeting cards.
• Personal Care
  

  Residents in Mt. Adams are generally impeccably groomed. Even in such a small area, there are three local salons. As you Like It Hair Design offers full service cuts, perms, color, waxing and nails. Cashion’s Hair Studio does one-on-one styling, color and facial waxing in a relaxed, private atmosphere. Hair on the Hill specializes in cuts, color, highlights, and waxing.
